!!! UNKNOWN HEADER TYPE (MULTI-LINE BREAK?) !!!
Can you name any other brand jumpers?
Here are 3 I can think of.
Toyota Soarer -> Lexus SC430. The Soarer jumped ship from Toyota to Lexus once Lexus was introduced in the land of the rising sun:
The Dino 208/308 GT4-> Ferrari 208/308 GT4. The only Dino to jump to the prancing horse brand.
Lotus Elan -> Kia Elan (!) That's right, Kia bought the rights to the Elan and produced it themselves.
So Opponauts. Any other brand jumpers you can think of?

The élan was the first thing I thought of. Interesting because it didn't jump between related brands like the SC/Toyota and Ferrari/Dino

The Chrysler 300 and the Lancia something

Thema, I think? That doesn't really count though because they're both sold at the same time, but under different brands for different countries. I'm talking about the Chrysler Sebring/Dodge Stratus sold as the Volga Siber after Chrysler stopped making it.

They were sold at the same time, weren't they? That doesn't count.

Land Rover Discovery and its Honda doppelganger, the Crossroad.

Does going from Toyota to Lexus or Honda to Acura really count? I mean in both cases it's the same company. I had a Lexus SC400 (Toyota Soarer). Despite the Lexus badges, all of the glass engravings and body part stamps said Toyota. The same can be said for Nissan/Infinity and a whole slew of GM based vehicles. It seems that car companies just like to rebadge stuff for the US.

It does have significance because it'd be like a Saturn going to Chevrolet (Saturn Vue -> Chevy Captiva). The thing is, it's no longer produced as a Toyota, and exclusively as a Lexus. I have tons of "Toyota" stamped parts on my IS300, but it doesn't count because it was sold as a Toyota AND Lexus at the same time.

But aren't Saturn and Chevy both GM divisions? I see your point with Lexus and Toyota selling the same car at the same time though.

That didn't jump brands. The Plymouth Prowler EXCLUSIVELY became the Chrysler Prowler. That's an example of a brand jumper.
